I'm not entirely sure.. I think it was just because the water was really shallow and the waves were going in and out..

You guys must have some _serious_ air pollution down there; how else do you explain all the excellent sunsets? :D

Not really much air polution. there was a little bit of burning off going on further south, but the wind was blowinng south, not north. I've seen awesome sunsets in the middle of the desert where there is no polution.. so I'm not sure it relies on polution.

Well, I was joking, somewhat. ;) However, the photos of sunsets I've seen from deviants from Australia have been unbelievably colorful, so I was wondering what might cause that... volcanoes? ... dust kicked up by kangaroos? ... rose-colored glasses? ... ;)
